Game Architecture & Command-Block Scripting in Minecraft
The camp
MazeCraft equips campers to use the most powerful block in all of Minecraft - the ‘Command Block’. In the first half of the day, we learn about X, Z and Y coordinates and how to move players and objects to specific locations.
In the second half of the day, we learn some of the theory underlying great game design. We then wrap up the camp by putting everything we have learned together to build a Maze Game. This camp harnesses the power and playfulness of Minecraft to teach rigorous concepts.
By 3:30pm, we will have…
Good to know
Every camp includesA printed certificate, games & activities, a parent showcase, flexible drop-off, like-minded friends, and a 1:12 staff-to-camper ratio.
Before you book
Does my child need any experience?
None at all. Total beginners and seasoned builders both thrive — a mentor meets every camper exactly where they are.
Do they need their own laptop?
No — we provide everything, from the laptops to Minecraft and all the gear. They just bring themselves.
What should they bring?
Just lunch, snacks and a water bottle. We handle the rest, and there are breaks built into the day.
How big are the groups?
Small and personal — we cap it at a 1:12 mentor-to-camper ratio so no one gets left behind.
Can I come to the showcase?
Please do! The last half-hour is a parent showcase where campers demo what they built that day.
What if they’ve never played Minecraft on a PC?
We advise that students with no Minecraft experience start with our MakeCraft course.
